We’ve listed a bunch of frequently asked questions and their answers and will be adding more as we go along.

RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT

DO I HAVE TO MAKE A RESERVATION?

Not necessarily. You can also come in as a walk-in customer. Call and ask if there’s space!
That said, if there’s more than a few of you we do recommend reserving your own lane.

HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION?

Reserving a lane is easy, just click on the “Make a Reservation” button on our homepage. You can also come in as a walk-in customer. Call and ask if there’s space!

WHAT’S THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE YOU CAN HANDLE?

One lane can take up to four throwers. If your group has more throwers, reserve an adequate number of lanes. For groups of more than four people we recommend a Private Event, where you’ll have enough lanes for everyone and your own private instructor who will walk you through the techniques and games. Private Events are held in a separate VIP-area that’s closed to other customers. The VIP-area can take up to 16 throwers at a time. If your group is larger than 16 people, we can probably still accommodate you, just give us a call or email us and we’ll figure it out!

CAN I COME BY MYSELF?

Sure! If you want to throw by yourself you can reserve a lane just for yourself, or just call us and join our walk-in session any time we’re open!

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

You pay at the beginning of your session and we accept cash as well as most cards. We also accept the following vouchers:

Smartum liikunta- ja kulttuuriseteli and Smartum mobile payments

ePassi Sporttipassi

Edenred Finland Oy Virikesetelit & mobile payments

Eazybreak- mobile payments

GENERAL QUESTIONS

CAN I BRING MY OWN DRINKS AND FOOD TO THE RANGE?

Sorry but nope. You can buy snacks and drinks from the bar on the range. Anyone who turns up drunk will not be allowed on the range.

I’M UNDER 18, CAN I THROW?

Our general age limit is 16.

WHAT’S INCLUDED WHEN I RENT A LANE?

To get started, one of our instructors will walk you through axe throwing safety, rules and technique. After that you can just practice throwing or set up a competition or any combination of the two.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A PRIVATE EVENT?

We’ll start off with a briefing on axe throwing safety, rules and technique and then start practicing throws under the tutelage of our instructors. Once everyone’s technique is solid, our instructor will run you through several skill-building games and finish up with a competition or tournament to sort out who’s who.

The event is one and a half hours long.

CAN I BRING MY OWN AXE?

Maybe. Usually we use only our own axes for safety reasons but if you have a WATL / IATF legal axe, you can bring it with you and use it if the instructor ok’s it. No double edged or steel handled axes will be permitted.

IS HELAXE ACCESSIBLE FOR THE THE MOBILITY IMPAIRED?

Kinda. The range is located underground and access is via a ramp that’s is a too steep to be considered suitable for a wheelchair. That said, if a friend can drop you off at our door midway up the ramp we’ve tried to make the rest of the place as accessible as possible. Due to space constraints the toilet is wheelchair accessible from the left side only.

Axe throwing itself is definitely both doable and fun for most mobility impaired people! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call!

Covid-19

Infections are on the rise again. Even though axe throwing in a well-ventilated area is a low-risk activity, we do require everyone wear a mask while visiting us. If you don’t have a mask, you can get one free of charge at the counter.

We want people to have the opportunity to have fun and toss some axes, but let’s stay smart, if you feel a little under the weather or if someone close to you is sick, please cancel your session and stay home! If you’re in a risk group, stay home! Axe throwing if fun but there’s no point in risking your life or someone else’s for it.

Other steps we’re taking to minimize infection risk

  • ENHANCED CLEANING PROCEDURES
  • FREQUENT DISINFECTING OF AXES
  • CUSTOMERS ARE REQUIRED TO WASH THEIR HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER THE SESSION
  • DISINFECTANT READILY AVAILABLE IN ALL PARTS OF THE VENUE
  • A VERY LOW THRESHOLD FOR STAFF TO STAY HOME IF THEY FEEL ILL

Additional steps will be added according to the authorities recommendations.
